Twinkle, Twinkle Little….Snowflake? , by Taliferrue Cathaldus.
…and just like that, with a puff of snow and a bit of icy wind, it was all gone.
Gothmas by Gaslight is now closed for 2014. Thanks for everyone who participated, blogged and shopped! We’ll see you next December. In the meantime, our next event is A Tattered Page, which opens on January 7, and Futurewave, which has applications open until January 31.
The clock is winding down on this year’s Gothmas by Gaslight. There’s just one day left to take it all in before it all gets packed away for another year. The sims really are gorgeous, so if you haven’t gone up to take photos and get some shopping done, this is the last call. Because tomorrow, it all fades away.
Today! (That’s December 23) from 4-6PM Pacific Time (SLT) Alisa Perne will be guest DJing at the Gothika Mobile Unit. She usually DJ’s over at Club Zero, but as happens she lives on Cursed full time(much to our collective delight), so she decided to come on back to the mobile unit to have some fun for a couple hours. Alisa’s a pretty terrific person and it’s going to be a ton of fun (and I probably should decorate her house for gothmas… um. oops. Yeah. I need to get to that…) but come on up and get some gloomy licks in before the madness begins tomorrow in earnest.
As I mentioned over the weekend, we have a technical problem on Sium. I filed a ticket about it on Saturday. We are waiting for a fix, and we *cannot* open the sim without it as we cannot control any of the parcel land controls. As soon as it is fixed, we will open GxG 2014 within 15 minutes. Please stand by- as soon as we can open, we will. we REALLY will.
Whoo boy. A whole bunch of stuff to update everyone on.
ok. First of all there’s this:
1. If you are a merchant in this year’s Gothmas by Gaslight, you need to have your booth at least partially set up by 8pm SLT tonight. I don’t care how much is done, but there needs to be some sign that you’re showing up in there (unless I talked to you previously about it.) If you aren’t, we are pulling your booth up. We are *not* going to wait for people to first show up tomorrow morning. We need to know who’s coming and who isn’t. You dont need to be done, but you need to have started. If we pull your booth, we will not accept you to another Cursed event until next year’s GxG. We aren’t playing around about this- it’s a giant pain in the ass when people stand us up. We don’t mind if people drop out. We mind when people don’t tell us that’s happened.
2. we have maps. I will post them here, and they will also be on the merchant page as well. Here’s the thing- they are subject to change. There’s a version number in the lower right corner. The website will always have the most recent maps, but I know these get passed around, so this way you can check to see if yours is accurate. That said, I EXPECT them to change rather drastically overnight. When in doubt, the thing to do is check the merchant list- it has direct teleport SLurls to all event booths.
3. We may, or may not be delayed in opening through no fault of our own. Right now LL has an asset server down, which is preventing people from doing their work in a timely manner. Further to that, I personally have a support ticket in to LL regarding a technical problem (their end, not our end) on Sium. Worst case is we push back a couple hours, but we will not know until LL gets its act together on both problems.
I will have more info as I have…well, more info. stay tuned gang- the snow hasn’t even started falling yet.
As usual, the flurry of updates to updates has been thick on the ground in the merchant group. Here’s what you missed if your notices capped out:
Vendors went out (and were updated. Because there’s always a permissions issue…) you need version 2.0. (or just ask me.)
Gachas went out after MUCH hassle. One of them has a small cosmetic issue (regular version 2.5. The one with email reports is fine.) If you want a fixed one, just IM me. The correct regular one is 3.0.
Blogger boxes – the correct box is v2. It went out yesterday. Since I’ve already typed this a zillion times I’ll do it once more- SL crashed in the middle of programming the first one, and it pushed about 25% of all the UUIDs to the wrong list. They were *there* but the script didn’t assign them correctly. Box v2 fixes this completely. Just use that one.
That said, there’s an unforseen consequence that was brought to our attention last night, regarding capped messages and inventory. Our scripter, (Nic Sadoul from Unrepentant) is aware of the problem and is trying to come up with a fix. My temporary workaround suggestion is to just do it the old school way- if you know you got a package but the inventory capped out, just ask the person who sent it to you to resend it. The blogger list is easy to check, and as soon as they see you’re on it, a redelivery to you should be a nonissue.
We do know about the problem. The issue is as usual not the script, but how poorly SL handles offline inventory deliveries. We’ll work it out.
About load in – we are waiting for Lokii to give the all-clear to close the sims for load in. As soon as I have it, so will you.
